Contract Description
Contract was awarded on the basis of Best Value for a new construction vessel that was already in production, with acceptance in November 2026. Commercial off the shelf (COTS) design is being used with minor modifications to meet Government requirements (e.g. fuel, oil and potable water tank segregation; additional insulation and heaters added). Steiner Hull 1081 (USACE Name TBD) will be 100 ft long, 34 ft beam (width), draft of 8 ft 6 in, powered by 3 x 800 HP Tier III S6R2 Mitsubishi Diesel engines. Vessel with have berths for up to 8 crew and two 65 ton barge winches.
