Contract Description
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to JEOL USA for preventive maintenance for a JEOL JEM-1400 transmission electron microscope (TEM). This instrument’s components are proprietary and the manufacturer’s service engineers are specifically trained to maintain the equipment, identify potential issues and repair broken or outdated parts. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 12.102(a).
